Physical therapy works independently of or in conjunction with chiropractic to return patients to the highest possible degree of personal independence. Our physical therapist treats patients with specific neurological, muscular, and skeletal conditions.
Physical therapy is often used for post-operative conditions, however, it is also prescribed to treat injuries in order to avoid surgery. Furthermore, physical therapy is often used a corrective therapy for chronic conditions. A consultation with Dr. Bissell or referral from your medical doctor is all that’s required.
The physical therapist plans a treatment program after extensive evaluation of each patient and his or her medical record. Tests, observations and a thorough health history provide vital information about a patient's strengths, weaknesses, reflexes, sensory perception, posture and gait.
Individualized treatment programs are designed to restore functional movement, relieve pain, promote healing and recovery and prevent additional injury. After the evaluation, our physical therapist leads patients through various exercises and stretches and may also perform hands-on therapies such as tissue work and joint mobilizations or use modalities such as heat/ice, ultrasound and electrical muscle stimulation.

Senior Fitness Testing:
Your current fitness level is like a vital sign, just like your heart rate and blood pressure. Our tests assess your strengths and weaknesses and provide data that will help you select a class that meets your fitness and lifestyle goals. The senior fitness test is safe, and meets scientific standards for reliability and validity and has performance norms for persons ages 60 to 94.
